1. Who runs Vizzls
Vizzls is a small independent business, built and run by Kyle Coogler in Iowa, United States. There is no parent company and no advertising business behind it — the subscription is how it makes money, which is the whole reason your information is never the product.
In data-protection language that makes Vizzls the “data controller” for everything described here: it is the service, not any third party, that is answerable for looking after your information. Questions, requests and complaints all reach a real person at Kyle Coogler on LinkedIn.
2. What Vizzls stores
What you upload
- Your email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash — it is never readable, by anyone.
- Your resume file. The PDF or Word document you upload, held in private storage that only your account and the service itself can open.
- The details inside it. Your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and a photograph if you include one.
- Everything you write or add afterwards — edits, extra pages, project descriptions, links, images, and the web address you choose.
- Messages you send, when you get in touch for help.
What the servers record
- Ordinary web logs — IP address, browser and device type, pages requested and timestamps. Every web server keeps these; they are used to run the service and to spot abuse, and nothing else.
- A small number of strictly necessary cookies, which keep you signed in and keep sign-in secure. There are no advertising cookies, no trackers, and no data sold to ad networks.
Payment details
Subscription payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to them and never pass through Vizzls, which receives only what a subscription needs to work — the plan, whether the payment succeeded, and the last four digits of the card.
Who actually looks at any of it
Nobody reads your resume as a matter of routine. Access to live data is limited to what is needed to fix a fault, answer a request you have made, or investigate abuse — and the AI step described in section 4 is automated from end to end.
3. What it is used for
- Creating your account and signing you in.
- Reading your resume and building your website — the thing you came here for.
- Hosting and serving your site once you publish it.
- Taking payment and running your subscription.
- Emailing you about your account, your site, billing, and material changes to these documents.
- Keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, obeying the law.
- Fixing problems and improving Vizzls — using aggregate or de-identified information wherever that will do the job.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal bases are: performance of the contract with you (running the service), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product improvement), consent where it is asked for, and legal obligation where one applies.
4. The AI step
To build your site, the contents of your resume are sent to Anthropic through their commercial API, where a model extracts your details and drafts the writing, and the result comes back. This is automated — no human at Anthropic or at Vizzls reads it as part of the process.
Your resume is not used to train AI models, by Anthropic or by anyone else. Under their commercial terms it is retained only for a limited period to run the request and to meet their own safety and legal obligations, and then deleted.
5. What is private and what is public
- Your uploaded file is private. It stays in private storage and is served only to you, unless you switch on the option to offer it for download from your published site.
- Your draft site is private. Nothing is visible to anyone else until you press Publish.
- A published site is public. Anyone with the address can read it and search engines may index it, so whatever you put on it — including an email address or phone number — becomes public information.
- Taking it down. Ask at Kyle Coogler on LinkedIn and your site comes off the web promptly. Copies may survive for a while in search-engine caches and web archives, which are outside anyone else’s control.
6. Visitors to published sites
When somebody visits a site published on vizzls.com, the same ordinary web logs described in section 2 are recorded — IP address, browser, page and time — and kept for up to 90 days to keep the service running and to spot abuse. Visitors are not tracked across sites, not profiled, and not shown advertising. Whatever a site owner puts on their own page is their business, not something Vizzls collects.
7. Who else it reaches
Your information is never sold, and never shared for anyone’s advertising. A small number of service providers are involved in running Vizzls, each contractually limited to the job they are hired for:
- Supabase. Database, file storage and sign-in. Your account, your resume file and everything on your site are stored here.
- Anthropic. Reads your resume and drafts the writing for your site. Your resume is sent to Anthropic's API to do this.
- Our hosting provider. Runs the Vizzls app and serves published sites. Standard server logs, including IP addresses, pass through it.
- Stripe. Takes subscription payments. Card details go straight to Stripe — they never reach Vizzls, and no card number is stored here.
Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, to enforce the Terms of Service, to protect someone from harm, or as part of a sale of the business — in which case you will be told before anything moves.
8. Where it is processed
Vizzls and its providers are in the United States, so that is where your information is processed. If you are in the UK, the EEA or another region with transfer rules, that transfer relies on standard contractual clauses or another approved safeguard.
9. How long it is kept
- While your subscription is running — your resume, your site and your account details stay, because the service needs them.
- If your subscription ends — your site comes off the web, and everything you wrote is kept for 12 months so you can pick it up where you left off. After that it is deleted. You will get an email before that happens.
- If you ask for it to be deleted — say the word and your account and everything in it goes within 30 days, without waiting for the 12 months.
- When you delete something yourself — a section, a page, an uploaded file — it leaves the live service immediately.
- Backups are kept on a rolling cycle and overwritten as they age, so a copy of deleted content can persist in them for up to 30 days before it is gone for good.
- Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
- Payment and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires, and then deleted. These are records of payments, not copies of your site.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask to see what is held about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy in a portable form. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority.
California residents: Vizzls does not sell or share personal information as the CCPA/CPRA define those terms, and nobody is treated differently for exercising their rights.
To exercise any of this, message Kyle Coogler on LinkedIn and include the email address on your account so the request can be matched to it. You’ll get an answer within 30 days, at no charge.
11. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, resume files sit in private storage behind per-account access rules, and access to live data is limited to the circumstances described in section 2. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, you and the relevant regulator will be told, as the law requires.
12. Age
Vizzls is for adults. You must be 18 or older to have an account. If information about a child turns up here, it will be deleted.
13. Changes to this policy
This page is updated when the practices behind it change, and the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how your information is used, you’ll get an email before it takes effect.
14. Contact
Data questions and requests, and anything else about Vizzls, go to Kyle Coogler on LinkedIn. That is the only contact channel published today; if that changes, this page will say so.
